Medical Residency Program
Regional West Medical Center partners with the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, to provide a two-year family medicine residency program and a month-long emergency medicine rotation in Scottsbluff.
Family Medicine Residency Program Through the Family Medicine Residency program, physicians move to the Scottsbluff-Gering area to complete the final two years of a three-year residency program under the guidance of Regional West physicians. Family medicine residents develop a continuity practice as they care for patients at Panhandle Community Services-an FQHC-in Gering.
Residents participate in weekly family medicine Grand Rounds and didactic programs via distance learning technology and interactive video. The program includes month-long rotations in specialized care with local physicians. The OB experience is one of the strengths of the program; other rotations include: surgery, neurology, pediatrics, orthopeadics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, urology, cardiology, behavioral medicine, pulmonology and critical care.
