Regional West Medical Center
4021 Avenue B
Scottsbluff, Nebraska 69361
The emergency department, located on the southwest side of Regional West Medical Center, provides care to patients of all ages - from infants to geriatric patients or seniors. Regional West's emergency department triages patients according to severity of illness or injury with the most critical patients being given priority.
The skilled staff provides the highest quality care to all patients regardless of their age, race, sex, religion, nationality, ability to pay, diagnosis or prognosis.
Regional West's Air Link air ambulance service and a well-trained team of first responders work cooperatively to provide quality emergency care to patients throughout the panhandle. The emergency department is a Level II Trauma Center, one of only three in the state of Nebraska, and serves as a regional referral center for western Nebraska, eastern Wyoming, southern South Dakota and northern Colorado.
As one of the region's leading "wired hospitals," the emergency department is equipped with a telemedicine service, which allows Regional West physicians and physicians from referring hospitals to communicate via a computer link for the evaluation of patients and to assist with the transportation of patients to the most appropriate level of care.
Regional West is the only hospital in the state of Nebraska to be selected by the University of Nebraska Medical Center to assist in the training of its emergency medicine residents. Regional West offers a month-long emergency medicine rotation that allows residents to experience the challenges and opportunities of emergency medicine in a rural setting.
