Home Care

“Our interdisciplinary team goes above and beyond to make a positive difference for our patients. Our goal is to complete the circle of care and return control to patients once they’re back home.”
–Diana Rohrick | Director, Regional West Home Care

Why Home Care?
Studies show that patients recover more quickly at home.

As Nebraska’s first home care agency, Regional West Home Care was founded in 1967 with the mission of providing comprehensive in-home and supportive services for patients and their families. We offer care to all age ranges, from infants to the elderly, with care requirements from acute, short-term illness management to those who need long-term management for their condition.

Our home care team helps patients adapt to their new at-home health care routine while providing care otherwise only available in a hospital or nursing home setting. This saves patients undue stress and expense while affording them the chance to play an active role in their recovery.

What types of services do you provide?
Our services include: observation and assessment; teaching and training; medication administration (intravenous or injection); tube feedings; tracheotomy care; catheter care; wound and ostomy care; maternity and newborn care; pediatric, psychiatric, rehabilitative and advanced illness services and private duty.

Is Regional West Home Care licensed and certified?
Regional West Home Care is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and is a certified Medicare/Medicaid provider.

Who will provide my care?
Regional West Home Care is a full service home health agency providing care through: RNs, LPNs, physical therapists, medical social workers, speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and aide services.

Is home care covered by insurance?
Home care expenses can be paid by the patient and their family or through a variety of public and private sources. Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Administration, Social Services, and the Older Americans Act are a few of the public third party sources that may cover home care expenses.
Private payers may also cover expenses. They include private insurance, long-term care insurance, managed care organizations, and workers compensation. Some community organizations, such as local chapters of the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, and the National Easter Seal Society also provide funding to help pay for home care services.
Because each situation is unique, we welcome your phone call, and we’ll be happy to discuss your options.

I don’t live in Scottsbluff. Can I still receive Home Care once I’m dismissed from the hospital?
Absolutely. We serve seven counties in western Nebraska. Our primary office is in Scottsbluff, with services available within a 60-mile radius. We also provide referral coordination with existing agencies in Chadron, Sidney, Bridgeport, and Ogallala.

Home care sounds like the right choice for me. What’s the next step?
Tell your doctor, nurse, social worker, or family member that you’d like more information, or give us a call. We’ll arrange a time to visit with you, your family, and/or any authorized representative and discuss your individual needs.
