The Rehab Center at Regional West Medical Center provides the most advanced level of rehabilitative care in the region, serving patients needs from newborns to the elderly.
Located in Medical Plaza South, the Rehab Center's facility boasts a 24 x 36 foot therapeutic pool. A walking track surrounds the rehabilitation gym and treatment area. We are also very proud of our pediatric program.
This facility houses all outpatient services, including cardiopulmonary rehab, speech/language pathology, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
The Rehab Center's physical therapists use a variety of techniques and equipment to treat patients of all ages with a variety of diagnosis. The Rehab Center boasts four board certified specialists in both orthopaedics and pediatrics as well as three NDT trained therapists.
Certified athletic trainers attend high school team practices and sporting events for Scottsbluff/Gering and many of the surrounding schools.
Rehab Center professionals facilitate support groups such as the Panhandle Head Trauma Support Group and brainstorm for patients and their families who have experienced a head injury or stroke.
The cardiac and pulmonary rehab programs are designed for each individual patient based on their goals, needs and capabilities. Patients participate in six to twelve week personalized exercise sessions. Although educational classes are an important part of the Cardio and Pulmonary Rehab Programs, patients seem to enjoy the camaraderie with others who have suffered from lung or cardiovascular disease.
Occupational therapists describe what they do as teaching "skills for the job of living." With an emphasis on the hand, arm and shoulder, occupational therapists use purposeful daily activities to help the patient achieve the greatest possible function and independence at any age.
The Rehab Center is located in the lower level of the Medical Plaza South. Patients should park on the east side and use the east entrance.
