Physiatry, otherwise known as physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), is the medical specialty dedicated to helping people with functional deficits from different causes. These injuries may include brain injury, stroke, back pain, sports injury, workplace injury, spinal cord injury, neck pain or arthritis.
Physiatrists use techniques ranging from detailed medical histories to nerve conduction studies to diagnose medical conditions. Depending on the diagnosis, treatment options can include medications, rehabilitation, injections, biofeedback, electrotherapies, assistive devices or heat and cold therapies.

Michele Arnold l MD, FAAPMR, FAANEM is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Elecrodiagnostic Medicine. Dr. Arnold earned a medical degree from Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine. She completed residency training and was Academic Chief Resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center's Department of Rehabilitation in San Antonio. In addition to her duties at RWPC Rehabilitation Medicine, Dr. Arnold serves as the assistant medical director of the Regional West Acute Rehab Unit.

Margaret L. Coon l MD is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Coon earned a medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where she also completed residency training.
